Welcome to Output! This guide will walk you through everything you need to begin using your sensor and app - whether you're setting up for the first time or starting your first session.

1. Pair Your Sensor

  1. Tap the sensor icon in the app's top-right to open Settings.

  2. Select “Pair New Sensor”.

  3. Choose your sensor from the “Discovered Sensors” list.

  4. Once connected, the light slows its flash and a colored circle appears around the sensor icon.

2. Athlete Profile Setup

  • Create a new athlete profile directly in the app - or select an existing one created by your coach or organisation - and you’re all set!

3. Take Your First Jump

  • Access the Output Exercise menu to log your first jump measurement.

  • Check your data - jump height, speed, and any insights the system provides.

4. Your Training, Right in Front of You

As soon as you open Capture, you’re prompted with exactly what you need to focus on - no digging, no confusion.

The home screen is designed to make Capture your daily training companion, helping you stay on track with your training, recovery, and upcoming sessions.

(a) Complete Your Profile

If you’re new to Capture, the first thing you’ll be prompted to do is complete your profile.

This includes basic details like:

  • Date of birth

  • Sport

  • Height (optional)

  • Weight (optional)

Adding this information helps Capture personalise your experience and ensures your results and progress are tracked accurately.

Once your profile is complete, you won’t need to do it again - and you’ll unlock the full experience inside the app.

(b) What You Need to Do Today

  • Wellness Check-In
You’ll be prompted to complete your daily wellness check straight away, helping you track how you’re feeling and giving your coach better insight into your readiness.

  • Today’s Sessions & Events
Any workouts, tests, or sessions planned for the day are shown immediately, so you always know what’s coming up.

(c) How Your Week Is Going

You’ll also see a snapshot of your current week, including:

  • How many days you’ve been active

  • Your total training volume

  • The number of exercises or sessions you’ve completed

This helps you quickly see how consistent you’ve been and how your week is shaping up overall.

(d) Top Performances

The Top Performances widget highlights your best results from your most frequently performed exercises over the past 30 days.

  • On phone → 3 performances are shown

  • On tablet → 4 performances are shown

  • Each performance displays the percentage change compared to the previous 30 days

  • Tap a tile to open the review screen for that measurement

5. Foundations & Insights - Understanding Your Performance

Further down the home screen, you’ll now see a Foundations & Insights section.

This is where Capture helps you go beyond just collecting data and actually understand it.

Normative Jump Data at Your Fingertips

When you complete a jump test in Capture, you can now compare your results against normative data - benchmarks based on age and gender.

From the home screen, you’ll find quick access to helpful resources like:

  • “What’s good? Normative Jump Data on Output”

  • Guides to understanding jump metrics

  • Educational content to help you make sense of your results

6. Turning Your Sensor Off

  • Option A: Fully close the Capture app (swipe from bottom of the screen); the sensor will shut off automatically after ~5 minutes.

  • Option B: Press and hold the sensor’s button for 3 seconds until the light turns off.

7. Charging Your Sensor

  1. Connect the cable - Use the supplied USB charging cable. Plug the small end into the sensor’s charging port and the other end into a USB power source (laptop, wall adapter, or portable charger).

  2. Check the light – While charging, the sensor’s LED will glow solid amber.

  3. Fully charged – When the light turns green, your sensor is ready to go.

  4. Charging time – A full charge usually takes around 1 hour.

  5. Battery life – On a full charge, the sensor typically lasts for multiple training sessions (depending on usage).
