The HYROX Conditioning Test
For a walkthrough on the HYROX Conditioning Test movement and workout breakdown, you can learn more here.
Where to start?
Once you receive your login details from our team via email, you can then login to the Hub (https://hub.outputsports.com/) and download the Capture app.
Once logged in you will see that we have added some dummy data into your account under the athlete profile called - HYROX Athlete. This is to give you a sense of what data looks like once collected for an athlete.
Invite Your Athletes
Once you have logged in you can then begin to invite your athletes to your account. This will allow them to create their own login for the Capture app where they can login and track their results.
Important: In order for your athletes to access the Capture app with their own login, they must have an email associated to their athlete profile.
There are a couple of ways of adding your athlete's;
Bulk upload your athletes
If you already have access to a list of your athletes that are going to performing the HCT you can quickly get them added in by dropping the list into the 'Bulk upload' section of the Hub; Athletes > Add Athletes > Multiple Athletes
More information on how to do that here; Bulk upload your athletes
Remember to include their emails in the upload!
Create a QR code
If you would prefer to send out a short form for your athletes to fill in instead, the QR code is the best route to go! Do that by navigating to; Athletes > Add Athletes > Create Invites > Create New
More information on how to do that here; Inviting athletes with QR codes
Remember to ensure 'Invite athletes to join Capture app' is ticked so athletes can include their emails when signing up!
Running the HCT
Once you have invited your athletes and their profiles have created, the Hyrox Conditioning Test will automatically appear for them in their app.
You can find some tips and tricks for running a testing day here; Running the HYROX Conditioning Test at your HYROX Training Club - Tips & Tricks for Testing Days
Making the Most of Your Results
Once scores are in, the real value begins. Here are practical ways to use HCT results to drive engagement at your gym:
Celebrate and Share
Announce top scores on the day – athletes love the recognition and it builds energy in the room.
Encourage athletes to share their Hyrox Score on social media. The score graphic from Output is designed for exactly this.
Post a round-up of testing day highlights on your gym’s social channels. Tag @outputsports and @hyroxworld for additional reach.
Identify Weaknesses
The Hyrox Score breaks down performance by movement. Use this to guide athletes towards the progression tracks that you can program for them, defined in the HYROX Performance Hub where they can improve most.
An athlete who scores well on the RowErg but poorly on wall balls, for example, has a clear training focus for the next cycle.
Build a Retest Culture
Testing days should not be a one-off event. Schedule retests every 8–12 weeks so athletes can see how their training is translating into results. Regular retesting creates accountability, keeps members engaged, and gives your coaching team a clear feedback loop.
Unlocking More from the Output Platform
Compete gives you everything you need to run the HCT and deliver instant Hyrox Scores. But as your testing programme grows, you may find yourself wanting more from the data. Here is what becomes possible as you move forward with Output Sports:
• Athlete dashboards – visual summaries of each athlete’s results over time, exportable as PDF reports you can hand to members or send digitally.
• Group dashboards – see trends across your entire gym or specific training groups. Identify which areas your members are improving in and where coaching focus should shift. This can be for all tests in addition to the HYROX Conditioning Test.
• Leaderboards – display real-time rankings on a projector or screen during test days. Use absolute rankings for open competition, or relative rankings to show each athlete’s improvement against their own previous scores.
• Trend tracking – overlay multiple test sessions to see clear performance trajectories. This is the data that turns a one-off test into a long-term training programme.
These features are available with Advance, the next tier in the HYROX x Output partnership. If you’re interested in learning more, visit the HYROX Performance Hub or speak to the Output Sports team – upgrading is seamless and you keep all your existing athlete data and scores.
