Repeat a Completed Workout ("Start Again")

Written by Leon Foley

Platform: Output Capture (iOS & Android)

Overview

Athletes and coaches can now repeat any previously completed workout with a single tap using the new Start Again feature.

The Start Again button appears on the completed workout detail screen and creates a fresh copy of the workout, ready to perform immediately - without needing to rebuild the session from scratch.

How to use it

  1. Open the Activity screen in Capture.

  2. Tap View Workout on any completed workout.

  3. On the workout results screen, tap the Start Again button at the bottom of the screen.

  4. Confirm the workout name (for ad hoc workouts) and start the session.

What gets copied?

The new workout is created directly from the completed workout record.

This means the repeated workout includes:

  • All exercises

  • Sets and rep targets

  • Workout configuration

    • Velocity zones

    • Load targets

    • Other workout settings

The feature works for all workout types, including:

  • Ad hoc workouts

  • Coach-assigned workouts

  • Template-based workouts

If changes were made during the original session - such as adding exercises or swapping movements - those changes are also included in the repeated workout.

However, all workout modification markers are removed so the session starts as a clean workout.

A few things to note

  • Repeated workouts are always created as Ad Hoc workouts

  • The repeated workout is not linked back to the original programme or scheduled event

  • If a workout is already in progress, the Start Again button will remain disabled until the current workout is either completed or discarded

  • The Start Again button does not appear immediately after completing a workout on the post-workout review screen

  • The button becomes available the next time the workout is opened from Activity history
