Optional fields in exports
When you export data from the Hub, you can now choose to include extra athlete details alongside your results. Four optional fields are available:
Email Address — the athlete's email address
Sex — the athlete's recorded sex
Groups — the group or groups the athlete belongs to
Sports played — the athlete's sport
These fields are opt-in. If you don't tick them, your export looks exactly as it did before.
How to include them
In the Hub, select Export Data.
Choose the athletes, groups and date range you want to export as normal.
Under Other Exports, toggle on any of Email, Sex, Group or Sport.
Run the export. The fields you selected are included in the CSV.
Where the columns appear
Any optional fields you select are placed immediately after Full Name and before Completed Date, in every type of CSV export.
If you have a spreadsheet or script that relies on column positions rather than column names, only exports where you switch these fields on will shift. Exports without optional fields are unchanged.
Athletes in more than one group
Where an athlete belongs to several groups, all of them appear in a single cell, separated by semicolons — for example Senior Squad;Academy.
If a group or sport name itself contains a semicolon or a comma, that character is preceded by a backslash so you can tell it apart from the separator. Splitting the cell on any semicolon that isn't preceded by a backslash will give you the names back exactly.
Blank values
If a detail hasn't been recorded for an athlete, the column is included but the cell is left blank. This is the same behaviour as the rest of the export.
A blank Sex cell means no value has been recorded for that athlete. It is not the same as an athlete whose sex is recorded as Unknown, which exports as Unknown.
Who can use this
Optional fields are available to Org Owners and Coaches.
The Group column only shows groups you have access to. If an athlete also belongs to groups outside your access, those are not included in your export.
